Peak Time Live Events

Along with our regular in-studio programming and the occasional remote studio special programming, we brought Peak Time in front of live studio audiences on several occasions. Recorded in both Chicago and New York, these episodes were chances to dig a little bit deeper into the scenes and trends our typical shows couldn’t while engaging more directly with our fanbase. These were some of the most fun episodes to produce.

Peak Time Live: Teklife and The History of Footwork

Red Bull Radio presents Peak Time live from The Promontory in Chicago, Illinois, featuring two hours of discussion about the past, present and future of footwork worldwide with Teklife, the crew that brought the Windy City underground genre to the world. Pioneering Teklife members DJ Spinn and Gant-Man will walk us through the roots of footwork in Chicago trax and ghetto house, the formation of the Teklife crew out of Ghettoteknitianz and the vision of late, great Teklife ringleader DJ Rashad. Chemistry teacher by day/footwork producer by night Boylan joins in to talk about the middle years and next-generation Teklife reps DJ Taye and DJ Manny follow along to talk about their influences, the nuts and bolts of producing footwork and pushing Chicago's 160bpm sound into the future.
